Sports massage is geared towards all athletes whether its professional sports, organized sports training, to light jogging, bike trailing or just hitting the gym on the weekends.  Sports massage helps the client with sore and achy muscles promotes fast recovery, improves range of motion and even aid in the prevention of injury.  Increasing circulation and is focused to target the muscles that are overworked and stressed do to repetitive motion.  If your a body builder you know how those reps can have your muscles feeling like they are on fire.  A good sports massage is all you need to loosen up those muscles and get you ready for your next set!

 Deep tissue massage uses firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle belly and fascia.  Fascia is the connective tissue surrounding muscles that also gets really tight.  Deep tissue massage techniques are used for chronic aches and pain and contracted muscles leading to problems such as a stiff neck, upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.

How Does It Work?

Some of the strokes may feel the same as those used in Swedish massage because of the way the therapist is massaging over the muscle fibers.  Deep tissue massage isn't the same as having a regular massage.  The deep pressure is used to realign the muscle fibers by manipulation of the deeper muscles and the soft more superficial tissues in you body.  Deep tissue massage proves to be very efficient in clinical studies.
